If, for example, you score less than a 50 on the CLEP exam, but your score report shows an 'ACE recommended' score of 50; would that be considered a pass?

The CLEP score reports have three fields of note: Score, Percentile, and ACE Score.

The Score is what you scored on the test, the percentile is your percentile, and the ACE score shows what ACE says you need for a C/pass. AFAIK, at this point, the ACE Score is 50 for every test, but certainly, you don't pass unless your score, in the Score column, is >=50.

Well, in that case, I have failed CLEP Math and have to revise my earlier statement about taking my last test! I will admit that I am a complete idiot when it comes to math. Accounting, business math, etc., no problem because I use it all the time.
Oh well, back to the drawing board; probably will take a DANTES exam in statistics as I would have to wait six months (?) to take another CLEP.
That's what I get for moving too fast!!

While ACE sets recommended scores in order to earn credit, it is left to each school to set their own standards. Many require higher scores than the ACE-recommended minimum.
