Thanks all!! I certainly would not have tried this without the help of everyone here and Lawrie Miller's website. Now, all I am waiting for is Excelsior to do my evaluation and to see if I passed English Comp.
29 tests in two months! Not to mention budget time at work, a 15 month old daughter, etc. etc. Whew, I am tired. Now, I just have to choose a graduate school.......who woulda thought!!
    thanks again

    That's great!

...much better that I, who took the two-year plan just to get my final 22 units. I took my last two tests at the end of October, and have a December Conferral date.
    Congratulations!

Mark, thanks for the kind words. I just had the time! Where are you enrolled? If its is Excelsior, how long did you wait before they did the evaluation? It's been about a month so far, and nothing!

    Excelsior...

...I kind of limped along toward finishing. Like taking a grad course through Rutgers in the Cayman Island, etc. It was the English Comp test that really keep be from going full out with ECE tests. I was scared to death to take it. But once that was over, I pretty much just started knocking down tests. I finished my last two while on vacation in the Florida Keys at a C.C. (a CLEP and a DANTES, the only ones of each I took). The longest time of any evaluation was for my English Comp, which as I recall was about three weeks to get the grade and another two before it was updated on their website.

    Mark,
Yes, that is the only thing holding up my celebration as I feel a little uneasy about the results. Hopefully soon. How was the Caymans? I used to live in Anguilla and certainly miss the island life. Now if only I could get my wife to move there!!!

just out of curiosity, which degree did you do? and which exams did you do to get the degree?

You can reach me by email at [email protected] if you could send it to me in a word document?

Your quest has ended while mine has just begun, i wish you the best os luck with the new degree!!

I will send it, but it is in Excel format. I had a ritual after every test to go into it and delete the shading from each test, sounds corny, but it gave me a sense of accomplishment. In addition, since you are in Amsterdam, it may not be as easy for you to take these tests. I was very fortunate in that all 3 test centers were within 5 minutes of work.
Good luck, it is not as hard as it sounds or looks, but will require a lot of determination. (at least, for me it did!!)

    So, what next...?

    (Not premature) congratulations, John--!
    Intense.

"Now, I just have to choose a graduate school.......who woulda thought!!"

So, apart from Oxford Brookes (sp?) and their Hospitality program, about which you query elsewhere, what else are you considering?
(I'm prepping for the GRE--it's interrrupting my 12+ month
Excelsior program and might push it to 15 or 18....)

PS I like your Excel highliting/de-hilighting ritual. It's not corny to have self-generating reinforcers to me. What do other people do?
(I have a very self-conscious alcoholic drink and chill, apres exam.)

    Orson,
I am looking at UniSA/Le Cordon Bleu, Sheffield-Hallam, Oxford-Brookes, and Heriot-Watt. All have pros and cons re: price, duration, etc. I am held up as I am waiting for SH's materials to arrive, and I am awaiting an evaluation from OB to see if I can progress directly into year two. If this is not the case, I will probably go with UniSA as it is most applicable to my field, the duration is one year, however the cost is about $11K; a little higher than the others.
I will let everyone know the outcome; meanwhile, any thoughts or experiences with UniSA, SH, or OB would be appreciated.
    cheers, John
