A letter sent to Greenwich University students today by Pauline Butler, President, says, in part:
    --------------------------------------------
"The following regionally accredited institutions in the U.S.A. have expressed support for our university and have agreed to accept Greenwich students into comparable programs:

    John F. Kennedy University
    California Institute of Integral Studies
    Institute of Transpersonal Psychology
Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center.

    --------------------------------------------

It remains to be seen, of course, what credit will be given for work already done at Greenwich, but it seems a pretty good step on the path to solving their problems.

This seems to be a positive step for Greenwich students, but "have expressed support for our university and have agreed to accept Greenwich students into comparable programs" could be interpreted into almost anything.

  3. I agree with Bruce. It would be nice if they said "with full credit for work completed..."

The list of schools only partially overlaps with Greenwich's scope. For example, Greenwich offers graduate degrees in biological sciences (which I briefly considered some time ago). Students in these programs could not easily fit into the schools listed.

It depends. The explorers or the unis?

    Oh.

Howard, there's lots on this on other threads. Search for Australian accreditation, Norfolk Island, or Greenwich. Here's a very brief and crude summary. Norfolk Island is a semi-detached dependency of Australia with its own legislature. The NI legislature said Greenwich could operate. Somehow, Australian unis self-accredit, but accreditation is supervised by the Australian government. All the mainland Australian unis have GAAP accreditation--not allowed to operate otherwise. Greenwich was sort of a tertium quid, and lately the Australian govt pulled the plug on them, apparently overruling the NI government authorization.
On the merits or otherwise of Greenwich University the C.P. has no opinion since I know very little about the school.

No, Charles Sturt Uni & James Cook Uni are small, regional but nontheless fully "RA" type of (Australian) universities.

However, if that is true it definatelly is a huge step for Greenwich, after all RA recognition is the ultimate recognition.
