I have a quick question. I don't want to get too specific as to not upset anyone at COSC if they are looking at this forum.

I took a 300 level class at a University of "STATE" school. COSC is only giving me an intermediate credit for the class. I called the State University and they say the class I took was Upper level - no question. I talked to COSC and they said that although most 300+ levels calsses are upper, this one isn't. The state university says it's upper level and I want to get upper level credit! How should I proceed as not to upset anyone at COSC? Would it help to get a letter from the State University or am I SOL?

    Thanks!

I had a similar thing happen to me several years ago.
CSUDH offers SMT 314, Introduction to Cosmology, as a 3 unit Upper division course. Regents College would not accept this for upper division transfer because the CSUDH catalog described the course as an introduction with no prerequisites being required.

Don't worry about upsetting anyone. This is your education that you are paying for. Just be tactful. They did the same thing to my wife and we challendged it and they changed it. You will have to provide a syllabus and a letter from the other University will not hurt.

Same thing happened to me. I took a 300 level class at UoP and it was accepted as a 200 level class. They were even going to consider it a 100 level.

To make it easy on myself, I took several DANTES and ECE exams that were upper level.

    What is your consentration?
