I was in a meeting today and the issue arose as to how many RA accredited Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and related type programmes (e.g. Doctor Management) existed in the USA,whether by full-time and/or part-time study/and/or DL study. The folks concerned were not interested in EdD (leadership or management) but purely DBA or DMan/DMgt type programmes offered via business schools. Has anyone a rough idea?

In the RA realm, I don't know the exact number of programs in the U.S now. I can tell you that the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business in their 1989 book "Guide to Doctoral Programs in Business & Management" listed 119 programs in the U.S. The great majority were PhDs in Business or Management. and only 10 or so were DBA programs. Nova (now Nova Southeastern) was listed, and was probably the only RA nontraditional doctoral business program at that time. On-line programs, of course, didn't exist. As you probably know, DM and/or DMgt programs are much more recent offerings. I suspect that the total number of programs is probably higher now than the 119 in that 1989 listing.

    Hi John,

Without looking very hard at that website you referenced here, I noted that New Hampshire University is missing (PhD in International Business) and Nova Southeastern in FL (DBA). So it is definitely not a complete list, but is very extensive nonetheless, and would be a fine resource for many people here.
