I would like to start working on my DL law degree. (I don't want to practice law.) Is William Howard Taft University a good law program to enroll at in order to earn the JD degree?

If it's Law for the sake of interest that you want, and you never said if you wanted to do the LLB (generally an LSAT to get into this program is required), then take a look at the DL LLM (Masters) available on Lawrie Millers site BA in 4 weeks, that is if its the sites up again?

I checked out the 2 programs on her site, the one at USQ & Northumbria in the UK.

Info back from them would have led me to choose the 6 subject from Northumbria in Commercial Law. There is a selection of courses to choose from and the cost of the course is reasonable.

    Good luck.

The dozen-or-so California-based DL law programs all use the same curriculum, since it is mandated by the state (representing a total of 3,456* clock hours of time over four years), and since they are teaching people to pass the bar exam. The differences are in how well they do what they do. The Baby Bar and Bar pass results would suggest that Oak Brook, Taft, and Concord are significantly higher than any of the others. If you are thinking of taking the Bar (even without an intent to practice), these would be the best choices. If you simply want to learn more about the law, then a 3-year non-bar program at these, or other schools, may be relevant.

Why go through the process only to limit your options? I don't want to practice law either. But, I want the option of sitting for the Bar should I change my mind.

Passing the Bar may still be a good idea even if you don't intend to practice, as it allows you to do things, and open professional doors, that may not be possible by not passing the Bar even with the degree.

    Good luck,

Absolutely. God forbid one's mindset should change halfway through the type of program where there's virtually no chance of sitting for the bar in =any= jurisdiction.

From the numbers I've seen, Oak Brook seems to do a better job than the others with respect to bar passage.

John: They've been on top for both Baby Bar and regular Bar for 4 or 5 years now, every sitting. Not everyone is comfortable with their evangelical Christian stance, but for those who are, it would seem a fine option.
