Any idea as to fees associated with this program? I don't see it on the website. The program looks interesting but seems to take a long time to complete.

I referred to this rpogram in my thread, the cost are very low compared to what you are getting: a world class degree in this field throough DL. Ihope to start with the program next year.

I heard that the CHN in the Netherlands is going to start with a DL (MA) in hospitality management. The person you need to come to contact with is Mr S. Gehelrelds. His email is not listed on the website of the CHN, but send me an email and I will forward it to my contactperson in the school (I am a graduate of this school)

The University of Wisconsin-Stout may offer a distance MS degree in Hospitality and Tourism with a concentration in Global Hospitality Management (I say may, because the website hasn't been updated since 2000/2001, so this may require some checking).

According to the website, it looks like they require two in person meetings. The program is Online, 3 credits at a time, 36 credits total (looks like a bit over two years to complete), RA, ~$425/graduate credit, and has a pre-req of 3 years in management.

UW-Stout is well known in the USA for its H&T program.

Well, unless I am reading this incorrectly, the program lasts at least three years at 7200 GBP per year. Can this be right? That is very expensive compared to other programs. I won't even ask if it is worth it because I can't afford it!!

I found the CHN website, however there was no listing for distance learning degrees.

John S, I just looked over the MLS a Fort Hays. Its an interdisciplinary program where you have options to include English, History & other subjects. Not my field of expertise, just comparing content between the two for you in what each program offers. Again depends on your interest and what you want to do specifically with this Masters after you graduate?

John, thanks. Yes, I have sent away for info re: SH's Hospitality MBA and it looks like the ticket. I have emailed several questions to them (yesterday) re: duration, costs, etc. because the site is somewhat vague. They use the terms, 'normally', typically, etc. so I am trying to nail them down a bit.
Fort Hays is my last resort, only because it is such a general degree. In my field, I have already achieved the distinction that gets you jobs, but I would like the MBA as a clincher. I truly think this will set me apart from others in my industry. There are still a lot of club managers without a bachelors, so an MBA will propel me to the top of the list, especially if it is in Hospitality.
I really would go for the UNisA / Cordon Bleu program if it were not for the cost ($11K USD), but I am going to look into financial aid/loans to pull it off. I don't mind the cost really, it's just too much money to part with in one year and although my employer is paying a portion, it will be a burden.
Sorry if this is too much info, but that is the situation. Of course, I am still looking at Heriot-Watt and will be closer to a decision when I see the info sent by Professor Kennedy, and the info requested from Sheffield. I will let everyone know (if they care!) the outcome.
    thanks, John

John S, just an observation. The Sheffield program, at around 3200 pounds ($5000) for 3 years looks reasonable in terms of cost.

I spoke to an associate at Sheffield (different dept) about getting some credits against the course for PLA based on your Undergrad degree, level of Management experience, and she said that Sheffield is flexible, but you have to pitch your case.

Wait till you get the all of the materials from SH, HW, UNISA and then decide.

    Cheers.

    John,
My notes are at work, but I thought the figure was closer to $7200. It was so much for years 1 and 2, and then a considerably lower amount for year 3. As stated, this said something like 'typical' next to it, so this may not be correct. Should have an answer to this in the next day or so. Will post again on Tuesday re: this. thanks, John
