I hope the administrators will allow me - My web site has been shut down yet again due to using too much bandwidth (too many visits/visitors). I have constructed two other sites to deal with the problem. These are http://ba_in_4_weeks.tripod.com/ and the UK site at http://members.lycos.co.uk/fourweekba/ These sites are not updated quite as regularly as the geocities site BA in 4 Weeks will have its own domain in short order This has been a public service announcement
Lawrie, good work, you have one of the better information sites, and I like P.S.A. Have you ever thought about doing a Doctorate version of your BA/Masters site? You could deal with the single type of Doctorates (Ph.D) or single subject/areas ARTS etc JR (ic)
Thank you for the kind words, John. Yes. It will be by degree type, specifically, and in this order of release, Ph.D., DBA, Ed.D. The latter two are single subject, anyway (broadly defined). What's P.S.A? Lawrie Miller author: BA in 4 Weeks and Accelerated Master's Degrees by Distance Learning* http://www.geocities.com/ba_in_4_weeks/ * parts being released as they are completed .
Lawrie, keep us informed of the releases, and I trust this will be soon? P.S.A , cryptic for Public service Announcements. JR (ic)
Lawrie, I don't know how much memory your site uses, but there are several web hosting services that offer quite a bit of space for a reasonable price. One association site that I "webmaster" pays $109 per year for 25 MB and another pays $190 a year for 100MB. Your domain name (e.g. BAin4weeks.com) would cost about $25 per year. Tony
Thanks for the info, Tony. I think 50Mb should be enough. Bandwidth - geo say I use over 3Gb/month and they shut me down quite often for exceeding capacity. I doubt I'm doing that much. Hogwash I think. I don't know about the domain name. Sure can't have BA_in_4_Weeks, too much trouble to type. I thought of degree-info.com to &#$%^ off Chip. The confusion could be a joy. This is off topic so I'll end.
Thanks! Hi Lawrie - I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks. I refer people to your site at least once a week. Sometimes they are individuals applying to ISIM who have lots of credits but no degree, other times it's just people I come across when visiting other schools. In either case, everyone has benefitted and for that they have you to thank. Best, Mary Adams
Re: Thanks! Why thank you for the thought, Mary, and for taking the time to write this. I'm blushing. Good luck in you studies, Lawrie
Engineering graduate degrees Lawrie, I have been checking the Master's section of your page. I think it is a great compilation. Thanks for the disinterested work. However, there are no resources in engineering, for instance. Are you contemplating to include some of them in the future?
Re: Engineering graduate degrees Yes, I hope to add them. Difficulty is finding programs the meet the inclusion critera. As you will know, many or most engineering programs require some mentoring, or labs, or work based project. Those programs fail the criteria. I want to keep all programs listed 100% distance. Nothing more frustrating than finding a good looking program labeled "distance" and later, in the small print, "with the exception of the bi-annual three week seminars in Frankfurt", or not mentioned at all is the important fact that the program is only available to those in the west Duluth area excluding State Street and Foggy's Bar. There are certainly some programs that fit the bill and I will add them. Thanks for reminding me.
