Matris Scholasticus University "...we offer professional recognition for the vocation of motherhood!" A very, uh, original accreditation statement.
Are you suggesting that mother does not know best, Bill? You were clearly a naughty boy then. Let me give you a hiding and send you straight to bed, without any supper! Cheers, George
Bill, this is far better than a Diploma Mill, and I for one would not discredit my Mother having a Ph.D in Motherhood, in fact please give her TWO doctorates, she will never be fired or questioned on her qualifications. This certainly brightens up the discuusion board on a wet east coast sunday morning (brings the 'son' in to my mother anyway). John Roberts Ph.D (London ICST)
Every year, I get a gag anniversary gift for my wife, and I think an MSU sweatshirt will do nicely this year. Having 1-year old twins certainly qualifies her for a Ph.D. in motherhood, IMO. Bruce
It's a cute idea. I'm sorry about the Universal Life connection, however. So unnecessary. At Michigan State (the 'other' MSU), my department used to award a Ph.T. degree, with diploma and tee shirt, to the spouse of a Ph.D.-getter. Either "Putting Hubby Through" or "Putting Honey Through." PS: My favorite academic garment is the sweatshirt they sold at the Vanderbilt University bookstore. Vandy is proud of having been called "the Harvard of the South." This item was a very authentic-looking Harvard sweatshirt that said HARVARD The Vanderbilt of the North
