I was asked by a friend in England about a school of this name, with which she is considering an involvement. I had assumed she meant Thunderbird, but it turns out this is something brand new: a joint venture of a Tennessee 'start up' (involving former Secretary of Education Lamar Alexander) and Lansbridge University in Canada. Comments would be welcome, especially from people with an opinion about Lansbridge. Thanks. Some info at: http://www.web2mba.com/shared/aboutus.shtml
Questions for Dr. Bear Thanks Dr. Bear. Looks like a good program. Two things I noticed. First, the school does not have a EDU address. Second, they do not state that the Bachelors must be accredited. Do you think they do accept State Registered/Approved degrees? How far do you feel they are from Regional Accreditation? The format looks similar to a Jones International, which is accredited. Regards, RJT
Re: Questions for Dr. Bear From their web site: "For applicants with excellent qualifications and experience, the undergraduate degree requirement may be waived. As well, a strong GMAT score could substantially enhance the applicant's chance of admission. Each application will be considered on its own merits." The study requirements of 2 hours per week seem very light for an MBA: "Student's Time: About 2+ hours per course, any time of day or night, about 12+ hours for the series. Timetable: Six weeks, 1 course per week." Why consider this when there are better options?
Thanks Ian. Likely correct, but I do understand that it is endorsed by the Governor. Herriott-Watt, and Jones may be better optipns. RJT
American Graduate School of Management is new, legitimate, but unaccredited. Lansbridge is new, legitimate, but still not that recognized. The joint program is not cheap. One can take programs from recognizable hundred year old accredited universities for less money. Is there a decision here?
