Credit for teaching HS

Gents and Gals,

Say a high school is interested in hiring me to teach English Lit. Does anyone know of a college with course descriptions that offer multiple credits for such an activity (given TESC's portfolio credit option)?

on the leftside you will find a masters in ed, which is only 4 courses long.
Maybe this will qualify you for the teaching credential

As an aside I know of a seminary that gives up to 12 credits for 12 months of internship, one credit per month! Now if you find, Chris, a doctoral program that has a similar liberality let me know!! Let's see using that "seminarymath" , 34 years of doing it x10 mos of teaching per year per year=340 credits!!!!!!!!!. Wowie, maybe Liberty or Southern Baptist will just give me the EdD for my experience!? BTW, good "luck" in Bakersfield. It's such a very cool (snorf,snorf) place to live!

no "snorting" or ripping on my hometown. we're back, were bad, and we are all over trying to find jobs here. we'll see if this works out.

I'll let you know about finding a PhD via teaching experience. BTW~~~ wasn't there some vague school in Indiana you mentioned that did that? I think it was called "Trinity." Oh well, my memory fails me.

Colleges of education routinely give credit for student
teaching. Whether the
circumstances of your employment could be compared
to a supervised student teaching experience is an open
question.

 

Do you think colleges of education would give credit for such "student teaching" not in education but in the subject matter taught? That is, credit that begins with "Mat" for math instead of "Edu" for education?

Type of credit for student teaching

I recently completed the requirements for a teaching license in science and math through the University of Vermont. My internship credits (that's what my university calls it when a person who already has a bachelor's degree does student teaching) were all education credits. However, I didn't need any subject matter credits, so I didn't inquire about your question.
