Hi, I had Excelsior do a pre-enrollment assessment of prior credits. I have two journalism classes that I was told (via phone) that would be applicable towards the english requirement but after the "official" unofficial assessment, it was found to be not true. I called Excelsior and was told that a "real" assessment would not be done until after I enroll and that perhaps it would apply after all. I am very confused and want to know if anyone has had experience with this type of situation and how did it turn out? At this point, if I could do the same tests listed on Lawrie Miller's site and get a BS at TESC instead of Excelsior, I would do it. According to TESC's information, this doesn't seem possible. Am I wrong about that? thanks again!!
Hi John You seem to have three questions- 1 Will Journalism classes replace English Comp classes? I believe the first assesment was incorrect. It is easy enough to either take the EC test or a local College course. 2 Is TESC's assesment/advising/customer service any better than EC? Based on reports here at Degreeinfo, my guess is no. 3 Can you complete a BS totally form CLEP and DANTES tests at TESC. The answer is clearly yes although many of the advisors maybe unaware of it.
