I read a mag that there are quite a lot private college/univ that offering degrees in Computer Game production. One is called Digipen. It seems they don't bother to mention they are accredited or not and they don't care. They stress that they can enable the students to work in the game industry. I feel they are not totally scam. Anyone has experience in that area?
I am under the impression it really doesn't matter what your degree is in when it comes to the gaming industry. What matters is whether or not you have experience in the industry with a named company. I believe the inherent benefit to going with an institute is you will be subjected to people in the industry who will give you a chance at getting on board with their team as an intern of sorts. This will get you the experience you need to get your foot in the doors of the biggies depending on your accomplishments. Good luck with your pursuit. Matt
