Howard, Capellapsy, or any graduates/students of Capella University:

I have some major questions as I contemplate attending this University for their Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology. Can any of you please provide an email address so that I may write you about my concerns? I really do not want to take up any space or time on the discussion forum as my questions may become very extensive. Thanks!!

Ye have not because ye ask not...

I wish you would post your questions here because you are not the only one who is considering Capella. If you ask your questions here, it may benefit other potential students (such as myself).

Before I embark on such an expensive endeavor, I want to know as much as possible about the school.

    Me Again:

For your and others benefit, here it goes.

    1. Has anyone attended or completed their degree from Capella and had to pay for their entire degree through loans? If so, did you have to get supplemental loans or did the $18,500 a year from the Gov't take care of it?

    2. Was the Fin. Aid process easy with Capella?

    3. For those who have completed their Ph.D. with Capella, what is the cost (if any) that you have to pay once you finished your course work and all you were completing is your dissertation?

    4. Is anyone in the Ph.D. in Psyhcology Program? Specifically Organizational Psychology? What do you think of the program?

    5. If there are any other thoughts about Capella that you may want to share, please do so. Thanks!!

I was fortunate in that I only had to borrow $10,000 to complete my PhD in Human Services. The financial aid office is very responsive to the student's needs. I really didn't believe it could go that smoothly. You pay until your dissertation is approved. Plan your courses, have an idea of what your comp questions would be, have a dissertation topic and a plan to complete the program in a short time to minimize the money. You can do the PhD in two years, but 3 is more the average. Lastly, your mentor is of utmost importance, make sure you can communicate and have the ability to work together for your best interest. And, you can send private messages through this board.
