The link below will take you to an interesting little article about the current status of DL in China. There is a url in the body of the article for those interested in more detailed information. In addition, I have read that there are also courses/programs offered at the following schools:
    Tsinghua U. Renmin U. Hunan U. Zhejiang U.

A news says that there are about 1 million chinese students are studying through the "internet universities" right now. However, as far as I know, all chinese diplomas obtained through DL are marked clearly that it is a DL degree.

Peking University, the top-notch university in China, introduced its DL MBA program in September 2000. The program attracted more than 3,500 students all over different provinces from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in the last two years. However, the registration in the program is temporarily suspensed in September 2002 for the reason that the number of students is more than that originally expected (i.e. more than that can be handled). The DL mode of study is stated in the diploma.

Didn't I read in some SEC report that China is indeed increasing its cooperation with foreign universities to enhance their DL offerings. If I recall correctly, one of the schools specifically mentioned was Barrington University. It appears that they have some 'graduates' that are assisting the Chinese government in this area, and as a result, Barrington is being given the green light to come in and award degrees. Please correct me if I am mistaken (I read this about 9 months ago).
