The professional association to which I belong is not evaluated by ACE. I have contacted them and asked them to get in touch with ACE and have this done. Any ideas as to how much this costs and how long it might take to complete this evaluation?

Money is what it costs. The ACE basically goes out and pays a 'specialist' in the field that you are looking at receiving credit from to evaluate it and recommend the credit that ACE shoud recommend. The fees depend on the content, and the final credit recommendation. The ACE evaluation sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Professional Aircraft Maintenance Association was for the evaluation of the aircraft mechanics license. The PAMA paid the $10,000 ACE fee, the FAA hosted the ACE evaluation and also provided all the documentaion. As a result, the Federal Aviation Administration licence to work as an Airfram & Powerplant Mechanic (A&P) is now recommended for 67 college credit hours.
...On a side note, few colleges will ever accept that many credit hours in tranfer, let alone from one certificate...

During my year of working for Pearson, after they bought our publishing/marketing business, the decision was made to get ACE evaluation for many of the courses of Open College, in England,* which Pearson owned, and which had DETC accreditation.

It was like a mini accreditation application. Quite a sizeable 'self study' done for each course. The actual evaluations were all done in one day by a group of experts ACE assembled in Washington. The work was done at the DETC offices a block away, I don't know why. And the cost was several thousand dollars per course, but I don't remember how many.
