    All,
My employer has an enternal training program (University of Excellance)

I've been with this company for 5 years todate I've taken about 400 plus hours of training.

I've contacted ACE in Washington DC and they stated that Sprint does not participate in their program.

I was able to get 1 course evaluted successfully (C++ PROGRAMMING) only becuase it was taught by an extenal company.

My question: Is there anyway I can get credit for the following courses. The number following the title = hours.

    Thanks in advance
    Steve

There are two ways that come to mind to obtain some credits for the training. Both take additional work. If you are looking for credits for what you have done, and ACE gave you the answer that they did, unless you are willing to do some more work, probably not.

The first is to use the portfolio route, where you document the specific training and how it equates to a course in that topic taught at some accredited institution.

The second is to take a standrard exam (CLEP, DANTES, or similar) in that area.

    Good luck.

ACE - not easy, but worth it

I am taking the ACE approach with Pacific Western, where grad level couse must be complied, than specific supporting documents must be povided, ststing thet the critera is Graduate Level. It is not an easy process, and may require a great dela of research, but if a few credits are earned, it is ione less course that must be taken, provided their is knowledge support.

No serious university should give credit for life experience at the graduate level. The only exceptions are honorary doctorates that are awarded to outstanding people in the field. Are you saying that a car salesman with 20 years of experience you be given half an MBA because of it?.

I don't see the point to get a master's degree by "life" experience when the purpose of a graduate degree is to achieve some level of mastery of the field.

I would agree if the person was asked to write an exam like in the case of the Heriot Watt MBA, if some one can probe that he has mastered an accounting course he will need to show it with an exam or at very least an accounting license.

The documentation that you could supply can be easily forged since it is not coming from a recognized place. I could print myself tons of diplomas and add the logo of the company and it would be very hard to probe they are fake. Few HR departments keep records of the training given to an employee, plus I doubt they would release the information outside the company.

I would suggest using a training company that has credit arrangements with some universities like learning tree international.

At learning three you are given a transcript of studies that could be transferred to several universities.

Some degree completion programs accept training certificates like the Jones International University B.Sc in Information Technology. You might want to contact them and see if you are eligible for the degree completion program.

Some industry certifications as CISCO are accepted for this purpose.
