How accredited is Excelsior College? And after Bachelor of Science, in Accounting is it possible for a student to take the CPA in the state of PA?

    From their website

Excelsior College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, 215-662-5606. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

All the College's academic programs are registered (i.e., approved) by the New York State Education Department.

Excelsior College Examinations are recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE), Center for Adult Learning and Educational Credentials, for the award of college-level credit.

There are two major types of accounting: managerial accounting and public accounting. Excelsior College offers both a general accounting degree and a NYS CPA track accounting degree. The B.S. - NYS CPA Accounting Track is a registered program with the New York State Board of Accountancy. It is designed to meet the educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of New York and is the more demanding of the two degree programs. You should enroll in this program if you plan to take the CPA exam in New York State. If you wish to become a licensed CPA in another state, you should check with that state's accountancy board to determine which of our accounting programs would better fit your needs.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck
