I've taught at Baker College for the past five years as an adjunct. Their MBA program is, depending on who does the counting, the second largest on-line program after UoP. In many ways they follow the UoP formula - six week classes and small sections (typically under 15). Indeed, many of their faculty are former (or current) UoP folks.

I've been encouraged, however, with their focus on student service and academic standards. As a faculty member they've been very supportive on fighting plaigirism, countering grade inflation and maintaining academic standards.

Baker draws a varied audience. Many of my Baker students are very competent and would do well in traditional MBA programs. They have some students, however, who are weak academically. This isn't a Baker only problem. With fairly open admission standards (2.5 GPA and no GMAT gets you in), you are likely to have some weaker students.

Baker isn't up to the quality of Harvard or even a solid AACSB MBA program. They do a reasonable job, however, for a mass marketed MBA program.

    Regards - Andy
