I've been an infrequent visitor so forgive me if this topic has already been covered but, what is going to happen to the assets of Orion/LaSalle?

Also, what about the Web address? Are they going to sell it? Does anyone have any information on that institution since they ceased operations?

Pursuant to recently adopted rules, ".edu" addresses are not tranferable.

  3. Also, AFAIK, for new .edu registrations each institution can only have one .edu domain name. So if someone wants to use distance.edu (assuming it becomes available) then they'd not be able to also register other .edu domain names.

It's an interesting question, Mr. or Ms. Toothdecay. I've wondered as well. My belief is that the LaSalle Educational Corporation never actually paid Kirk's World Christian Church for the assets -- 3 or 4 quite sizeable buildings plus a church. The payments were, I believe, supposed to come from royalties, in effect, from Orion revenues.

I guess it wouldn't amaze me if things reverted back to the World Christian Church, and thus the coffers of James (Thomas) Kirk (McPherson). But I don't know this and have no inside information. As has been reported here, Kirk is now out of Federal prison, and apparently involved with LaCrosse University.
