Has anybody had any experience with the Global Master of Arts program at Tufts University? It looks like it is very difficult to get in but I read the material they sent me and found it very interesting.

  2. Top-shelf program. Legendary faculty & lecturers, and the Fletcher School has a preeminent reputation in IA circles. Given the probable makeup of your cohort group in the program, you'd be in excellent company.

The down side? Well, the program cost exceeds the ENTIRE discretionary "outside training" budget for any of the government agencies I've worked for (and, I suspect, that of many "emerging democracies.")

If, however, you're sitting on about $60K that you can't find a better use for, go for it. Can I see your class notes & videos when you're done? :D

What kind of programs do they offer in the areas of government and economics at Fletcher via distance? Completion time? I must admit I do not know a lot about them except they advertise in Foriegn Policy. Any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

No personal experience, other than looking at the program and realizing there was no way I was going to be accepted.

Just in case you didn't know, there are required residencies mixed with online learning. The incoming cohorts are also limited to 35 students per year, and their admissions requirements effectively exclude all except the very wealthy and the very well-connected.

If you can gain admission, then go for it. The Fletcher School is probably the most respected institution of international diplomacy available in the United States.

BTW...Tufts also has one of the best veterinary schools in the country, as well as pretty good medical & dental schools.......
