I just discovered (totally by accident) a very innovative and interesting program offered by the Saybrook Graduate School.

This new program is a Ph.D. in Police & Public Safety Psychology, which focuses inquiry on issues especially relative to sworn police officers, such as domestic violence, homelessness, mental illness, etc. As a matter of fact, the program is designed especially for cops, and has the nickname "CopDoc Track".

This is something I will be looking into. Although I have no interest or desire in becoming a licensed psychologist, Saybrook states that the program is designed to comply with licensure requirements. A brief description is available here.

As far as I can tell, the usual Saybrook residencies apply, that is a one-week residential conference twice a year, plus an initial orientation (one-time only). All other contacts for out-of-state students can be satisfied by teleconferences and other means.
