I have only 2 more chapters to record for the Mathematical Methods for Business course. It's only available on audio right now. I need to test market it. It may have to be redesigned on video. Probably will be later on. Anyone want to help me test drive it (should be finished by Wednesday)?
You'd need to get the Schaum's Guide "Mathematical Methods for Business and Economics". I run everyone through the chapters in the book and elucidate key points. Also, I have to work out some key problems in the Solved Probelms sections more thoroughly. That's not ready yet.
Your benefit is if you help me test drive it (I want about 5 people to do this) is:
    1. You get the course for free and the completed test scores for it if you pass. I want a quality product and quality graduates.
    2. If you help me test drive the whole course you'll get the certificate for free.
    3. You'll help raise the standards of business education and lower the costs. I'm not just doing this to make a quick buck. I'm trying to help business compete and stay alive.
    4. You'll help yourself by having the title "business consultant" as well as student on your resume. I already have a good idea as to how to teach it, but I want to make sure the students understand what I'm teaching.

    Portfolio Potential for TESC

Hello, Good luck with your venture. Several people e-mailed me for suggestions for the actual "guts" of a portfolio for TESC. I think your program along with a narrative and a life analogy would make a winning combination. (Remember actual material can be used for more then one subject) Hope all are keeping cool, or keeping their cool on a lovely August evening. Hille

Finally, I can do all this on video CDs

I work as an administrator during the day and we finally got our
electronic equipment in and working. Just shot some videos and burned them on CDs. Give me a little more time.

Just some quick questions, Why a student would want to get the Richard Green's certificate when there are tons of similar certificates in the market with more recognition?. What is your competitive advantage? Why do you expect that a certificate from Richard Green's institute would entitle them for a "business consultant" designation when you have many more recognized international credentials like the CMC? who will be your potential market?. Your course may be the greatest, but I wonder if you have considered other aspects besides course contents.

I already answered all these questions

    See my website at www.geocities.com/richardmgreen

Just some quick questions, Why a student would want to get the Richard Green's certificate when there are tons of similar certificates in the market with more recognition?.
    1. I'm not aware of any graduate level certificates. Most I've seen are on Associates level, etc. Also, I'm cost effective and thorough.

    2.What is your competitive advantage?
Great quality for the price and I will do requested studies of any topic that I can handle. I'm here to grow with you.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude, 3rd in my class even though I finished the degree in only 10 months of study. Personally, I have good powers of concentration and have good study habits. I can pass that off to you.

3.Why do you expect that a certificate from Richard Green's institute would entitle them for a "business consultant" designation when you have many more recognized international credentials like the CMC?
I'm shooting for business managers, owners and consultants. They may not know me now but they will after I advertise. If you want BA, BBA, MBA, MSM, MM etc quality training in about a year with good quality, feedback etc.. then I can help.

who will be your potential market?. Your course may be the greatest, but I wonder if you have considered other aspects besides course contents.
Any help you could give me would be appreciated. I was in touch
with Dr. Bear about this too.

    A little learning is.....

I think it was Alexander Pope in his 'Essay on Criticism' (late 17 th century) who wrote:

A LITTLE LEARNING IS A DANGEROUS THING,
DRINK DEEP, OR TASTE NOT THE PIEREAN SPRING.

In other words, if we take thigns for granted there would never be any change. That's one of the problems I feel is exhibited all so often here! Is it RA or is it not and if it isn't...don't bother! RA is pretty crap in my experience (and I include the ever-incrwasing British equivalent of RA!). If things were 'accepted' we'd still have only Oxford, Cambridge, Paris, Harvard, Yale, etc. In other words, education and learning for the few while the masses...well!

Go with it and try your new program. Forget about about the educational Pharisees who cannot see beyond ..whatever it is they do so...RA and its equivalent stultifying, process driven equivalent!

Lets see what reaction this brings...perhaps none at all!

If none, I'd still encourage you to be different and remember that learning is about 'risk' taking. Those who lead and learn take risks!

    Re: A little learning is.....

Good analogies. I'm definitely the iconoclast. And I'm definitely a risk assuming person. I could advertise in The Economist, Pop Science, Pop Mechanics. I can give people genuine business education.

Also, ebay is a tremendous resource. I could put the courses up there.

    What would work?

Another good question is: What would work? Tutoring for people taking distance learning? I could coach people through the courses they're taking. Guide them in computers, etc..

What's the CMC? OK, I'm a little in need of an education when it comes to alternative education/certifications. Where do they advertise, who are their target markets.
I stress what I teach. The focus isn't on myself as a personality
(I'm trying to avoid 'ad hominem' logic flaws). although I am an administrator etc..

I work in New Jersey in a neighborhood that has AT&T, MCI, Johnson and Johnson etc.. There's load of local businesses that could use my trainings.

    What I'm teaching again

I saw the site. What I teach is based on my degree from Bu/Ben Gurion U and also my undergraduate courses too and subsequent courses and my business experience.

Re: I already answered all these questions

Most of the graduate schools offer graduate certificates or diplomas as an alternative to the MBA. There are even schools that label them as "mini-MBA" certificate. I would compare your course to a book or mini MBA training course rather than a University program. Some other similar courses market themselves as preparation courses for MBAs like the Heriott watt.

I am new to this board. I am probably similar to the demographic you would train.

I would invest whatever you can into a web site design. No canned, template stuff, but pay some poor web graphics person with some design and HTML skills a little bit of money to add a professional look to your web site. And get a real domain and host. rmgreen.com is available. Coincidentally, rmgconsulting.com is a London based training/hr firm. Oh well.

Just two cents from a back end web programmer.

    RMG Consulting in London

A firm in London shouldn't cause me trouble in America.
I'm going to look at all the certificate programs and see what courses they offer and offer more. I'm sure I can offer better training though.
As far as a webpage, this was just to put something up. More later.
