Hi, I was checking out a University that has several Intl. campuses. http://www.schiller.edu/ Anyone know how the host countries think of this school? Tony
Interesting question. The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (the recognized regional accrediting body for schools in Florida and ten other southern states) doesn't list Schiller among the schools it accredits. And this evening, when I try to go to http://www.schiller.edu/ -- my browser very briefly displays what seems to be a Schiller index page and then redirects to http://www.tampabay2002.com/index.asp However, the sitemap appears to be available at http://www.schiller.edu/siu_tws/Site%20Map.html I'd tread with caution.
The Florida incorporation records hint at the possibility that the "parent" school may be in Germany suggesting that they have a Florida license and derive "accreditation" from Germany. But I could be wrong. I did not find them listed at DETC or ACICS.
According to this website, http://www.wiu-usa.edu/history.htm , Schiller International has an articulation agreement with Wisconsin International University. WIU is a less than stellar institution. Also, every legitimate and most illegitimate schools post an accreditation section on their web page. Why not Schiller?
I first found this page that claims they have ACICS accreditation. For their Florida campus they list their link as www.schiller.edu . When I went there, as you, I couldn't seem to get back to any accreditation page or anything of much substance to be honest. Maybe a badly designed page, but I wanted some more opinions on the matter. Also, does anyone from countries that host the other campuses have input. Thanks, Tony
ACICS's quick search function turned up nothing for "Schiller", but using the index search with Germany as the only entry reveals Schiller's listing. https://ebiz.acics.org/eacics/ScriptContent/index_member_moreinfo.cfm?ID=10639
It is ACICS accredited. link That answers one question. What interests me most is how the school is perceived in their foreign markets having only nat'l accred. (as far as I can tell, anyway) . I am asking this, because if all else fails, I may be forced to enroll in an na graduate program (assuming I can't talk a RA school into admitting me ). Thanks, Tony
Here's the page for Schiller's online MBA: The Schiller MBA ONLINE. What got me interested was the picture of Schiller's London campus on this site: LONDON CAMPUS. This is the same as that of London City College (UK parent of American City University, licensed in Wyoming) at this site: London City College. Small world...
