Well, now that I've got your attention...

Quick question about earning commissions on enrollments at commercial institutions of higher learning:

Does anybody know if there is any accredited university (most likely private) which would be willing to pay a commission if I can convince a group of my friends and colleagues to enroll in its degree program along with me? If so, what is the typical commission rate? 5%? Any experiences?

If education is becoming a product, and products are sold, and commissions are paid on sales made, I think it would be a reasonable scenario in which one has one's education paid for by ingenuity and hard work.

Any and all (constructive) comments appreciated.:D

USQONLINE has some kind of business program for marketers of online courses.

  3. I looked at http://www.usqonline.com.au/ and didn't see any info for online course marketers -- the fee information did mention a discount for paying the full cost of a course upfront.

I doubt very much that you'll find any reputable DL program that will pay you a commission for getting others to enroll along with you.

When I worked at the U of Iowa, the correspondence/independent study program often got unsolicited mail and email from individuals who wanted to act as our agent, drumming up enrollments for a commission. All got a negative response.

It could be fun to have your own local community of learners going through a program together, and sharing books and other resources would save some money.

I also could not find any information for marketers at USQonline but I did see that USQ has partners and agents worldwide. Besides the sales function, I see that agents that run study centers have an important function in DE, namely to increase retention. :)

Thank you for the various private emails on the subject. However, my responses did not seem to go through due to problems with mailboxes being full . Keep them coming though.

I suggest that you approach Trinity Seminary in Indiana. As that school is accredited:D by two well known British Universities, you might have the option of receiving your commision in pounds!

Thank you, Bill. However, at this time, I would like to focus on DE-only schools offering MBAs. If possible, but not necessary, MBA programs with either a global/international perspective and/or an entrepreneurial studies option.
