I was alerted to this one today:

    http://www.columbiaunionuniversity.edu

It claims institutional membership with the World Association of Online Educators. Silly claim, as the WAOE only permits individual membership (I am a member) and their URL was forwarded to me. The usual British Virgin Islands association blah, blah, no physical address etc etc.

How many does that make this year John???

    Cheers,

    George

    I love this line...

"Remember, Columbia Union University awards 'earned' legitimate degrees, not diploma mill degrees."

I guaranteee there are people sending in their money for the authentic degree printed on 36# paper stock, with an authentic seal, and authentic transcripts who will one day be outed and will shout how they were "taken" or "duped" by deceptive marketing. How they thought it was a legitmate endeavor.

Rationalization is a very powerful enabler.

  3. They also claim membership in AACIS, which is another member-only association.

And the domain name was registered -- or at least "activated" -- with Educause just last November, to:
    James Dykeman
    Columbia Union University
c/o James Dykeman 24 Michael Drive
    Hudson, NY 12534

And the reason for Educause taking over the administration of the .edu domain was....????
