    Hi JohnnyV

Welcome to the forum. There is actually a wealth of information and opinion about CCU here. The best way to access it is to click on search, fill in california coast university, and then click search. You should find 112 different threads that discuss it. While state approved it is unaccredited. There are so many better choices out there that I wouldn't spend much time considering CCU. For the vast majority of people regional accreditation is the best choice. Good luck in your search and if you have specific questions please ask them.

    Johnny,

You would help us give you some ideas if you gave us more info about what you are looking for. Please let us know what sort of degree and field.

Dave is correct there are so many other affordable options at all levels than the state approved schools. There are a few exceptions such as if you wanted to practice law ONLY in CA or Psychology ONLY in CA and there was no way for you to attend an accredited school then the CA option may be an acceptable choice. Beyond this even at the doctoral level there are foreign options at about the cost of a CA approved doctorate and with far more utility.

So, let us know what you are interested in.

I don't believe that Cal Coast offers any Criminal Justice programs, but even if they did, there are much better choices available.

Thomas Edison State College offers a B.S. in Human Services with a concentration in Administration of Justice.

Roger Williams University offers a B.S. in Criminal Justice.

New York Institute of Technology offers a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences with a concentration in Criminal Justice.

Washington State University offers a B.A. in Criminal Justice.

All the above are regionally accredited, so you'll have no problems with degree acceptance for job requirements, promotions, admission to graduate school, etc.

If DETC accreditation is acceptable, American Military University offers a B.A. in Criminal Justice.

If the issue is speed, cost and accreditation, the Big Three (Excelsior College, COSC and TESC) are the answer. If a major, not a concentration, in C.J. is required, then you would need to look elsewhere. I believe we have several members of the law enforcement community who can make some great suggestions. Also you may want to click on search, fill in criminal justice and hit the search key. There have been several great threads on the topic. Good luck.
