Wes, I reply was not pointed at you. I was actually thanking you for realizing that many of us do have lives, but we still want to continue to grow and we want to do that via the internet. The Union Institute and University offers its Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. Learners develop their programs in conjunction with faculty advisors both from within and outside the university. They can develop programs in most areas; certainly it is possible to do a Ph.D. with an emphasis in Fine Arts. One might also consider the many Australian universities offering short- or even non-residency doctoral programs, some of them in the arts. The University of South Africa might also be an alternative.
