Hi Concordia university chicago is offering a Phd program online in organizational leadership https://gradschool.cuchicago.edu/academics/doctoral/edd-phd-leadership-organizational-leadership/ How it perceived compared to online university? Like walden, capella , monarch business school Honestly at the moment, am going to choose between monarch business school and concordia (both are ACBSP accredited , not AACSB) My objective is go for academic career Please advice Thankuu
FYI, neither Concordia Chicago nor Monarch are accredited by ACBSP. Concordia is a candidate for accreditation while Monarch is just a member. Neither of these statuses equate to accreditation. I don't think the accreditation would extend to Concordia's Ph.D. in OL even if they were to become accredited. The only doctoral level programs that I've seen with ACBSP accreditation are the Ph.D. in Business Admin., Ph.D. in Management and the DBA. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think organizational leadership is exclusively a business or management field. In my opinion, I think Concordia has the best reputation of the four schools you've mentioned. Therefore, I would go with them if I was in your shoes.
Nevertheless, it is massively better recognized than Monarch Business School. They would not appear in the same ratings. In fact, Monarch looks kind of sketchy compared to Walden and Capella.
Ok but do you have any suggestions? What are the top choices with more affordable prices for an online phd that will serve me to enter academic career
I have been trying to answers similar questions for many years for myself. From your research, do you have any suggestions to assist me?
The Organizational Leadership online I could see only Northeastern University's Ed.D in Organizational Leadership. If your money stretch, why's not Vandy's Peabody Ed.D in Organizational Leadership
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (ranked #52 nationally by U.S. News) offers an online Ed.D. in Human Resource Development. The GRE is not required and the tuition is only $466 ($29, 824 for the entire program). The only other costs would be books and travel expenses to the on-campus preliminary and final exams. Someone on another forum was looking for organizational leadership programs. These are the PhD programs I found in organizational leadership or related fields (one has a concentration in organizational leadership). For the purpose of that thread, however, I skipped over EdD programs and most of the for-profit schools. https://www.antioch.edu/gslc/degrees-programs/business-management-leadership/phd-leadership-change/ https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/phd-organizational-leadership/ https://www.thechicagoschool.edu/online/programs/?fwp_locations=online-programs&fwp_degree_type_fix=doctoral https://www.andrews.edu/grad/programs/curriculum-and-instruction.html https://www.saybrook.edu/areas-of-study/leadership-and-management/phd-organizational-systems/ https://sullivan.edu/doctorate-degree-students/phd-in-management/ Online Ph.D. in Leadership | University of the Cumberlands https://johnsonu.edu/Online/Programs/Graduate/Leadership-Studies-(Ph-D-).aspx https://www.eastern.edu/3/academics/programs/phd-organizational-leadership/phd-organizational-leadership/online-learning Ph.D. in Leadership - Piedmont International University
I don’t disagree with this statement. The Chicagoland area has a number of Catholic universities that all fall under this same category: Saint Xavier University Chicago Lewis University Benedictine University University of Saint Francis Joliet Concordia University All of these schools have: Been around since at least the early 1900 Are not considered Top Tier schools on a national level Are relatively easy to get into, for the most part Cater to day time college age students and adult evening learners Regionally, come in just behind DePaul and Loyola as far as name recognition goes But..... Offer respectable degree options. A degree from any of these school is not considered embarrassing or inferior. My point, a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Concordia would be perfectly acceptable. My 2 cents....
So how much is the tuition for the Concordia Org Leadership PhD? Can't find it anywhere on their site.
Checked it out myself by corresponding with the admissions counselor for the PhD program: $710/cr hr.
