GATE 2002 Conference - Paris

    Hi guys,

    Anybody attending the GATE 2002 Conference in Paris - 18-20 September? I might pop in on my way to Copenhagen.

    What does GATE stand for? I might be in Europe in mid September.

    It stands for the Global Alliance for Transnational Education - see http://www.edugate.org

    Its founder is Bob Jones, also founder of Jones International University (first fully virtual uni to gain RA, amid a scream of protests from the AAUP)

    Very interesting topics re - online learning living in in the world with GATS etc.

    GATE was/ is a serious attempt to great a global accrediting agency, so it will be interesting to see how this has panned out.
