    got your attention, too, huh?

Boy, it got mine when it appeared to me in email just now! I thought, "Wowie, they did it! Trinity got RA!"

So, I quickly turned to the message, and..............................

Nope, "just" an announcement about another seminar:rolleyes:

What I do note from their site is that the accreditation no longer mentions U of Liverpool unrecognized non accreditation accreditation. Now only the NAPSC unrecongized accreditation remains.

North go to the site again and read the "endorsement" where that relationship is termed "accreditation."

So deceitful where "accreditation" in UK and SA regularly means acceptance of credits and degrees between schools, but here does not. SHAME!

Oh, but far, far worse: halfway through Bill's post, I actually had the thought--I hate to admit it, but I have to--that I might consider Trinity if they really were RA. Can you imagine! (Somebody reading this is going to get all over my case, I'm sure: "Hey, Trinity's accredited . . . um . . . Liverpool . . . Beatles, you know." Yes, what an outrage!)

Anyway, the thought came as fast as it went. I'm highly interested in London Bible College where the school is both accredited in terms of UK and USA terms!

(I guess what really makes me ticked at Trinity is that they looked like they really could be something good. But all the deception--and that's sad, it really is--just destroys any confidence I had in them.)

As I've said before my quarrel with Trinity is that they confuse students re accreditation. I would still argue that Trinity offers a reasonable amount of work for each class..I do NOT consider Trinity a mill!

God's guidance for your program search, LBC as I remember looked good!

    Brother Bill,

I have to clarify that I had that quick thought about attending the college (when I read your post) just because I feel that the school's cirriculum is good. That's what upsets me. If they'd only acknowledged and dealt with the deception, I would have looked no further than Trinity; it had what I wanted, and still does. (Okay, London Bible College has no general ed, which is certainly nice, and it's only three years, but Trinity still looked good.) So, it's Trinity's loss. Otherwise, yes, I agree that they are not a mill. They're just shy one less student they could have had--me.

LBC looks very, very pleasing. In the meantime, I'm doing a 4-month course (coming up in late August) at a local tech college here in Minnesota to become a truck driver. This, you see, is to prime me for the 3 years coming up for LBC . . . he said with great hope in his voice! Go figure! Truck driver! There's got to be a link here, someway or another, with theology. There's got to be!

I think when Trinity lost you, they lost a "big one.":)

Of course there is a link...on both sides of that huge truck you paint in 8 foot tall letters "Jesus Saves."...see, now you have a great ministry w-out Bible College:D :D :D

If . . . If I own the truck! (I'm thinking of trying to get on with Covenant Trucking. They're suppose to be a Christian trucking company. I'll have to hunt around for others, too.)

But were the 8 foot tall letters painted by an accredited painting contractor? This would determine whether one had a "great ministry" or not. ;)

You mean the announcement wasn't that Trinity was merging with Master's Divinity School?

Trinity and MDS divorced sometime back, BMAN. There seems to be no hope for reconciliation. :D

    Trinity-Canterbury

If I am understanding my communications with Christ Church Canterbury correctly, the College is, in fact, 'validating' Trinity degrees and Christ Church actually awards the degree to successful Trinity students although Trinity, seemingly, runs the programmes, assessments, etc. This is not an unusual practice in the UK for UK degree-granting institutions to dot his sort of thing both inside and outside the UK.

    Re: Trinity-Canterbury

True, this is not an unusual practice within the UK system, however, I do not think this is what is happening with Trinity.

Trinity awards their own degrees, therefore, upon graduation one has a Trinity degree---not a Christ Church degree. Of course, the Trinity degree may have a glossy CC sticker in one corner. ;)

    Not the case!

    Russell:

As I investigate this more (I may yet be proved wrong!) you may not be correct in your assumption! The evidence seems to be that Christ Church may be awarding the degree. Perhaps Trinity grads get two degrees - Christ Church and a Trinity degree. That's not unusual these days! I don't particualrly agree with thsi process but there we go!

    You may be correct!

You may indeed be correct, telfax. If this is the case it is a recently implemented practice.

Do your research, please! If you are correct and can prove it that one who completes NOW a doctorate at Trinity actually gets that from Christ Church, then, I will post the name and church address of an ordained pastor who will witness me EATING MY TRINITY REGISTRATION!

    Re: Not the case!

    Telefax,

Christ Church may have a different understanding of the agreement. Trinty Seminary says that TRINITY will issue the degrees and Christ Church is simply *accrediting* them in the same way U of Liverpool did (i.e. Bill G. does not need to eat his paperwork).

It is certainly unfortunate that CC is not issuing the degrees. However, from their web site I did not notice doctoral level theological programs (may have missed them).

Re: Re: Re: Not the case!

Why is that, Bill? Have you been chewing on it all this time?

Before you retire each evening do the following and your anxiety over Trinity will subside:

    1. Sit down and relax.
    2. Drink a relaxing drink (non-alcoholic of course).
    3. Then, with closed eyes, imagine a room filled with glossy University of Liverpool stickers.
    4. Remember the doctoral modules which you completed and affirm that it was not all wasted time.
    5. Push the thought of the $3000 far from your mind.
    6. Repeat this phrase 100 times,
I am at peace with Trinity
I am at peace with Trinity
I am at peace with Trinity............................................................

Usually by the 90th repeat a deep inner peace should overwhelm you and you drop off to sleep. And WHAM, you don't have to deal with again until you wake up. ;)
