    Graduate Math Courses

    Greetings, all!

    I haven't posted in a while, but it's good to be back. Quite a bit has happened since I finished my latest degree. Since completing my PhD last semester, I was offered the role of serving as Acting Academic Dean at my community college for the coming year. One of the disciplines I oversee is Math. As a social sciences program, this is clearly outside of my area, so I am not familiar with any programs.

    We have a huge dual enrollment program, and schools are trying to expand their offerings. As you program know, to teach credit level math one must have a masters with at least 18 grad hours in math. I'm trying to put together a list of affordable online programs that teachers could check out to get that credential. Many of our high school teachers already have a masters, so they'd just need the 18 hours.

    One thing we have to be aware of, however, is that the courses cannot be education courses. They can't be "Math for Teachers " even if the course prefix is MTH or MATH. SACS won't count them as math courses towards the 18 hours.

    I know about the program through Emporia. They are about $450/credit, which isn't horrible, but if there are more affordable ones out there, it'd be beneficial. I'd appreciate any suggestions this community might offer.
