    Just some additional background...

UMT's DEAC accreditation is also up for renewal this month. The last time they were up for renewal the decision appeared to have been deferred for quite some time (like, two years). The result was that accreditation was renewed without condition for five years, but they were already two years into that period.

This is a sticky situation. For starters, UMT has a history of not just getting their accreditation renewed on schedule. But compounding that issue is the fact that there is, apparently, an active federal investigation into them. At a time when DEAC is likely trying to avoid the fate of ACICS, this might be when DEAC decides to cut them loose rather than risk getting tainted by scandal.

I'd be curious if UMT died a peaceful death or continued to live on in China through the existing school they have there (or maybe they would just shut down the US School?) if DEAC cuts them loose.

This scandal is kind of a bummer, not just because I earned my MSM there, but also because UMT had a pretty solid reputation in the federal civilian workforce and the military. J. Davidson Frame's project management credibility was also pretty solid. Just the accusation, even if it proves to be unfounded, pretty much tarnishes the whole thing. And if founded, well, that opens up a whole new set of problems.

    Can't argue with that.

Could be worse - or could it, really? At least the school hasn't been linked to Pyongyang Automation University, or Amrokgang College of Military Engineering - both in North Korea.

That's where the DPRK trains its world-class hackers. The best-of-the-best go to work at Bureau 121 or No. 91 Office, when they graduate. A privileged bunch, so I hear.
