Wouldn't people have to already know how to learn, in order to learn how to learn?

Only to a certain degree. I guess you leverage your native learning ability with spanking new techniques - all neuroscientific etc., so you can learn "better" - i.e. more, faster, more thoroughly and permanently.

OML, I'm starting to sound like an ad for this stuff! At a lot of colleges and unis, you get a short, mandatory course on learning/study skills etc. at the beginning. Where I'm sitting right now, they call it "Student Success." I had to take it, 20+ years ago. All I can say is - it did me no harm.
