From the January 2017 meeting: http://www.deac.org/UploadedDocuments/Public-Notices/Accreditation-Actions/022717_AC_meeting_report.pdf Educatore School of Education https://teach-now.com/programs-degrees/
William Loveland is on a show cause while ABTU came back from the brink. Color me surprised. I also find it interesting that Genesis University (new name) will now be offering, what I believe are the only, non-Christian religious degrees that are DEAC accredited. Very interesting.
Good lord. According to the Show Cause notice, it looks there are problems with just about everything. Indeed, the Show Cause order states "WLC is required to undergo a total re-evaluation of compliance with accreditation standards using the procedures set forth in the DEAC Accreditation Handbook" (emphasis added). http://www.deac.org/UploadedDocuments/Public-Notices/022717_wlc_sco_summary.pdf I wonder what happened? They reorganized as a non-profit a few years ago, launched the low-cost MBA program, not to mention the creation of William Loveland College itself instead of just being the Institute of Logistical Management. All of that and things still seem to have gone to hell for some reason.
Not to mention Dr. Lady's stated goal of officially pursuing regional accreditation. I don't support the idea of betting on accreditation (i.e. starting a program at an unaccredited school banking on it being accredited down the road or starting a program at an NA school banking for RA down the road). But I would have felt like WLC was a relatively safe bet. Hopefully they are able to come back.
VERY interesting indeed.
I wonder about two factors: (1) How things went downhill so quickly. WLC was only accredited to offer the MBA in 2014, although ILC itself had DETC / DEAC accreditation since 2001. (2) If the school could go so globally out-of-compliance in 2-3 years, were there any red flags, that maybe should not have been missed, during the 2014 accreditation process? A daunting task ahead of the school, to say the least. And yes -- I'm really, really surprised. Last time I was this flabberghasted at a DEAC school was when the venerable CIE /World College was put on Show Cause. And they didn't regain their accreditation. J. PS. I'm not yet sure who surprises me the most here - WLC or DEAC.
Why, when I read about the Loveland situation, does the word schadenfreude gleefully come to my mind? (Never mind . . . that was a rhetorical question.)
Obviously I can't comment on this stuff at this point, however I do plan on using this site as a means to get information out when the time is right. Lets just say that over the next little bit, exactly what is going on will be clear. Check out my post here to start to understand, and, be very comfortable that the world as you know it in a few years will be very, very different than today. http://www.degreeinfo.com/general-distance-learning-discussions/53043-letter-chea.html Also, look at how the different players have moved around and you will discover motive.
Dr. Levicoff: "Dr. Lady, did you order the Code Red? We want the truth!" Dr. Lady: "You can't handle the truth!!!" ___________________ With apologies to A Few Good Men. :approve:
You gotta trust me, Sherby. You keep your eyes open, your chances of catching the ball increase by a factor of ten.
I dunno, Steve. Possibly, it's your favourite German term, of those that have been appropriated for high pay-grade English usage. Over the past few years, I've seen quite a few Schadenfreude posts by you, all well-warranted and entirely on point, I might add. If you wanted to change things up, I'm sure you're easily capable of other German terms used in English, e.g. Weltschmerz, Weltanschauung, Zeitgeist, Gemütlichkeit, Putsch or even putz, if you prefer, though it's not quite echt Deutsch, is it? I'd stay away from words like Lebensraum, though... But I think your writing style is pretty darn cool as it is. I once nailed copies of your "95 NIFI criteria" to my fridge. Hero-worship! Cheers! J.
