If you say so. But where, exactly, did it say that? I was all over the site and couldn't find it. Couldn't get the application page to work, either.

And does it not at least require somewhat regular, short campus visits? From the site:

"Long distance students – registered with us and who only need to attend classes 2 days a month – Long distance students may apply for Visitors Visa, they are required to produce supporting documents when applying..."

Also this: "Our PhD students are also encouraged to participate in our monthly Curiosita workshops to present and discuss their work, and to provide mutual support in the quest for continuous learning."

Found this page on the Da Vinci doctorate:

Doctorate (PhD) in Management of Technology and Innovation (Da Vinci Institute) | Bill Venter Academy

Seems to be focused solely on Management of Technology and Innovation. Fine, if that's your bag. Also designed (it says) as a 3-year F/T program. Found nothing re: distance. Plus, it appears to be intended for working people who will use the knowledge in their work environment, particularly (and it so states) "within the South African economy."

Ah well, who am I to quibble? Fees are very reasonable: $11, 014.54 US for the whole 3 years.

Hmmm. Wouldn't you think a school solely focused on Management/Utilization of Technology and Innovation could manage / utilize it well enough to provide a pure DL model... Other not-so-tech-focused schools can.

I guess I'd want to hear it from the school before I got too excited.:sigh1:

I agree with Kizmet (as usual). "Online" means quite a few different things beside pure DL, depending on the school. What an aggregator site, even a pretty good one like this, posts can often lack specifics. That's not a criticism - they can't post everything, when they're dealing with many schools. The overwhelming impression I get from Da Vinci site itself is short, regular campus visits, 2 days a month or maybe a bit more counting the Curiosità doctoral workshops. I think their distance mode is aimed at South Africans or others who can at least get to campus for short periods, then Moodle away from home the rest of the time. What Da Vinci actually says on its site seems to bear this out.

As Kizmet says - best to contact the school and make sure. Please let us know what you hear from them. No real point in any of us doing any more guessing.
