    Hello all,

    http://www.aynrand.org/academic/index.html

I was checking this program out and think it has alot of value, it is unaccredited at this time.
The Objectivist Academic Center is designed to supplement your degree while you are obtaining it.

    Any comments?

As would I Mike. I am interested in applying for the program, although it looks as it may be quite competitive. Doesn't anyone have any experiences or opinions about this course of study?

    Thanks,
    Tony

This organization does not appear on the list of approved schools on the website of the California BPPVE.

I'm curious as to the value in this program other than for personal satisfaction.

    Well Ian,

Although the web site does mention some students who have had classes accepted for credit at RA schools, this is not where I see the value.
Although they are expanding the graduate program (maybe to offer a degree) and are going for accreditation, this is not where I see the value.

The value is that it fills a niche, and I would guess it fills it nicely. What niche? The niche for a rigorous study of Objectivism.

    Tony

    I am a fan. ;)

    Cultish? Nah..................

One interesting thing I have wondered is how does she dismiss intelligent design (she is very anti religion). Her premise that nothing rises from wishing or wanting or feeling I would agree with. So where did man and his complex dna come from? Just chance? If so, it would be more believable a computer would come from chance. Much simpler. Abundance in the resources required (copper, silicon, et cetera). Oh yes, and much more simple code, it can't even reproduce or learn. It almost seems she is taking a "mystics" viewpoint on this point.

I am still a fan of her ideology, I equate it more to a learning exercise than a bible however.
