Cool major, interesting degrees. In UK I seen many programs that with appropriate prior education one can enter final year of a bachelors degree program. In US you can do the same, many colleges and universities award transfer credit up to 75% and in case of big 3 even more like 16 out of 120 credits for a degree. UK has the Diploma (1 year of university), Higher Diploma (2 years of university), Foundation degree etc. Not all are equal but if they are in the field of studies toward a degree then there is flexibility to enter and exit points to a degree program. Same for Masters degree, a post graduate diploma may be accepted in to final 2 year masters degree etc. They also have a 1 year Masters degree such as MEng. In US number of leading universities offer one year Masters in Engineering as well. Many Cornell baccalaureate engineering graduates spend a fifth year at Cornell, earning an M.Eng. degree.
