I was able to read it.

That's weird. Sometimes I can view WP articles easily, and sometimes it says "must be a paid subscriber". Weird. It sucks because I like The WP.

Thanks! I really like the first article:

"Over the course of an hour-long appointment, retired carpenter José Luis Garcia, 69, doesn’t just get the exam he was expecting. Bajwa also draws him a detailed diagram to explain how blood sugar levels work. They discuss — thanks to Bajwa’s fluent Spanish — what’s causing stress in Garcia’s life, including his wife’s recent brain surgery. At the end, Bajwa offers a hug."

“This is a very great doctor,” Garcia tells McFarling. “Normally, I don’t feel important.”

Mr. Bajwa sounds like a good doctor, and a very nice man.

Wiadomo. I like that the sound of that. It's amazing how much you can learn every day. Only a very stupid foolish man believes there is nothing new left to learn. I strive to learn something new everyday, and everyone has something to teach, from a beggar to a banker.

    I thank you kindly,

Caribbean medical school sounds great until you land at Student Doctor Net. My advice, if that's your plan, stay off the internet and you'll be fine.

How did I know you would react to that?

Call me a snob, but I would never go to a physician who went to a Caribbean medical school.

Lil ol' me a doctor? I don't like to fly to close to the sun, it's easy to get burned. Better to be inconspicuous.

I'll bet you a batch of cookies 99% of the people never know where their doctors went to undergrad, medical school, or residency. Especially if they are part of a large "ABC Medical Group" and get assigned to someone. Almost every practice I go to has more than one doctor, and I don't always get to pick. As an example, our family of 6 goes to a specific dentist - easy. But, when we all go for a skin check at the derm, they split us up - some have apts with the PA, others with one doc and other with another. Those apts are impossible to get, so it's "whoever" will see us.

No bet! And be thankful I won't take it, because you want nothing to do with anything I make in the kitchen! :lmao:

    You're right, of course, but I do check that stuff out. Off the top of my head, I know the medical school credentials of my;

    Civilian PCP - Temple University

VA PCP - George Washington University

    VA Dermatologist - Rutgers University

Wife's PCP - University of Massachusetts

    Wife's OB/GYN - University of Massachusetts

Son's pediatrician - University of Pittsburgh

    Daughter's Pediatrician - Tufts University

One of my prior civilian PCP's went to medical school at Tel Aviv University, which I had absolutely no problem with. He just decided to move to Israel full-time, so I had to get a new one.

    No bet here either.

My most recent primary care physician in the U.S. went to King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. That I knew offhand.

My primary care physician in Dominica went to Howard University College of Medicine. That I had to look up, as Dominica is small enough that one typically goes by reputation.

My mom always knows, and is very "top 20" oriented when it comes to her doctors.

By the way, I don't think all Caribbean medical schools are great, but I would be perfectly confident to see a doctor who went to Ross or St. George's.

Yes, it does, Abner. But that was Polish. No biggie. Just for you, here's the same thing in Russian: Да, есть что-то новое, чтобы узнать каждый день.
