Four bogus Irish universities....

  1. ...are still operating despite a Department of Education pledge to close them down months ago.

    That's the lead in an article I just found, from The Irish Examiner. 13 Dec 2001.

    The names mentioned are Shelbourne University, Glencullen University, European University of Ireland and Irish International University.

    Probably because they have no physical existence in Ireland. I seriously doubt if Shelbourne and Glencullen have any legal origins in Ireland; European University of Ireland and Irish International University definitley do. Where they are operated from though is a different kettle of fish.
