Hi All. I'm brand new to the forum and humbly requesting advice The degree is not something I need for work - more of a closure issue. I went to 3 colleges over the years and have units to transfer (attached) I'd prefer to test out when possible and willing to pay residency fees. Higher math is not preferred but will do it if I must. Below is what I think is best based on the quick research I've done:

CharterOak, Bachelor General Studies, Concentration - Information Systems Studies
    https://www.charteroak.edu/prospective/programs/concentrations/informationsystemsstudies.cfm

Excelsior, Bachelor of Arts, Liberal Arts
    https://my.excelsior.edu/documents/78666/292073/SLA+BA+Liberal+Arts/0474f972-0b7a-463a-acb0-7ee9de83dc07

TESU unofficial eval came back with a list of 21 classes - my art classes (which they did not see) may take off 4 classes. That still seems high.
    Much thanks,
    JB

Please ignore the last message. I just realized I only have half the class list in my possession. Do you think it is best to send the big 3 my official transcripts and let them find the best program for me? I'm leaning towards Cyber Security or Liberal Arts (equal number of classes in each category but I also have Cyber certifications). Thank you

PS - Do they make you, "Lock in", after the evaluation or can one take time to decide?

At TESU, and I think the other two, you can change your program at any time.

Thanks. I was thinking I could take tests/cheaper classes over the next year then lock in

I bet if you wanted you could complete a whole PF degree in a year. I did 30 hours in a month. You can go through courses as fast as you can pass the tests.

You of course will not learn anything but that does not seem to be your goal.

Thanks. I've ordered all my transcripts be sent to TESU and Excelsior. I'll know a lot more in a month.

Excelsior, Bachelor of Arts, Liberal Arts is the most Flexible, but not the cheapest.

There's nothing wrong with rapidly earning a degree by showing that you already know the material.

PF is cheap and fast but it won't allow much credit transfer. The other issue is that is only DEAC accredited and the school itself has one of the lowest reputation in the industry that UoP might only beat.

Oh c'mon. Really? Just a notch above U of P in reputation? Really?! Let's see some outside sources for this statement.

Really? I suspect they are largely unknown and as for UoP... well I am not sure I put them above a decent public high school

I will ask you a similar question, do you have any source that contradicts this statement? PF has the advantage that is unknown while UoP is known but not for being Harvard.

If you cannot support your statement then it is simply an opinion. So it is just your opinion and I disagree with it. You have no experience on which to base your opinion. So anyone viewing this thread certainly consider the source.

    Have a Grand Day!

PFC is a real school. Most of their courses are ACE approved, so that's a huge plus. I have only had EC refuse to take them for some weird reason. Heck even Pepperdine said they would take them in transfer when I was looking at earning a second bachelors.

What is PF / PFC? Guessing it's an acronym. Thx

    PF should be Penn Foster.

PFC is Private First Class but also know as Penn Foster College.

Thanks - checking them out. Looks like they focus on 2 year programs that align with careers (and 2 Bachelor programs)

Be aware that PF is DEAC and not RA accredited. The ACE recommended courses may or may not be accepted at an RA school. Which PF courses are ACE recommended is unknown to me.

Excelsior accepts them. There are enough ACE reviewed courses to complete a BS in LS from Excelsior.
This is perhaps the fastest way to go. PF courses can be completed quite fast, they rely mainly on MC quizzes, final essay and final exam that can proctored online.
It is reasonable to complete 30 credits per year on a part time basis and complete a degree in 3 to 4 years if you test out credits with foreign language skills and other subjects.
