(First of all, it's not the same as InterAmerican University in the US.)

It's a distance learning university. I've just found their website. They offer a number of courses. Their alumni list are updated yearly. Their graduation ceremony pictures posted on the site seems to be credible. I'm interested in this university because it's from Malaysia, where the tuition fees are extremely more affordable than in the US, and they offer design courses via distance learning.

(I also have other university options, but this university interest me much.)

Anyone know about this university or have any information, please share.

    Thank you!

From their accreditation statement, which can be found on their FAQ page (underscore added):

Note that they do not say they are accredited by DETC (now DEAC), merely that they submit a self-evaluation to them.

Based on this statement alone (and the obvious lack of faculty listings), I'd say that this school is downright sleazy. Avoid them like the proverbial plague.

If you say so, but the InterAmerican University in the US lists the InterAmerican University in Malaysia as an affiliate. Another affiliate is the American University of Hawaii (now the American University for Humanities).

Indeed it does. All tied together. They're both part of Inter-American's "world-wide network" of 25 schools & organizations under the acronym IUNINS. This whole "network" has been cussed-and-discussed at DI for years.

    Here's an -um- interesting 2005 thread: http://www.degreeinfo.com/accreditation-discussions-ra-detc-state-approval-unaccredited-schools/20347-inter-american-university-usa-inter-american-university-puerto-rico.html

I agree with Steve Levicoff. ( I usually do - it's safest.)

One thing I agree on with the OP. Malaysia has some really good schools. But don't even LOOK at schools there without checking to see they have Ministry of Education approval. You can check every degree program, every school. They make it easy.

The .edu.my domain of this school bugs me - only a bit, though. I'm thinking maybe it's somehow derived (legitimately or otherwise) from a pre-2001 "grandfathered" .edu domain held by Inter-American US or other schools in the IUNINS chain. It's certainly not because Inter-American is listed as a Public or Private University by the Malaysian Ministry. It isn't - at least, I don't see it there. Also, it doesn't appear as a University College, either. (That's a Malaysian school that isn't a University, but is approved to grant its own degrees.)

Enough on this school. Who cares what it is? We know what it isn't.
