Well, as sort of an "independence day" event for DegreeInfo, we've officially announced the opening of our online book and tape store. So far, we've got only two products, but one is available ONLY from DegreeInfo... a brand new 60 minute CD entitled "Success in Distance Learning" and written and narrated by John Bear. The other is Bears' Guide 14, for those of you that don't have it and would like to order it. We'll have a bunch of other books within the next month or so... be sure to check back! There's lots more info on both the CD and the book at http://www.degreeinfo.com/order.html If you're interested in helping to support DegreeInfo and, by doing so, help us pay some of our bandwidth and ISP bills, please order a copy or two of the CD and/or the book. We're offering special introductory prices between now and July 15th. Right now, we're only equipped to accept PayPal payments (Yes, I know... please no emails on how evil they are...) but we will be adding Visa and Mastercard services of our own within the next month or two. If you're violently opposed to using PayPal and still want to take advantage of the discounted pricing, or if you're ordering from outside the US, please email "orders at degreeinfo dot com" and we'll arrange another means of payment. Thanks to all for your help, support, and thoughts!! Happy 4th of July! Regards, Chip
Ordering dr Bears CD and the Bears guide Hi I never used pay pal but if you give me a snail mail adress I will send a money order to order the cd and the guide ( not sure if its the same one I have)
PAYPAL is... from <www.paypal.com> "What is PayPal? PayPal is an account-based system that lets anyone with an email address securely send and receive online payments using their credit card or bank account." It's favored by those businesses without the volume to justify setting up for credit cards and the high percentage of sales they exact. --Orson
Supporting via distance-purchasing Okay, first, are the two products accredited--nationally or regionally? I have no use for these products if they aren't accredited. Second, what's the fastest and easiest way to obtain these two products? I only have so many more years left before these two (hopefully accredited products) will be worth obtaining! Oh, and is there any type of portfolio that I can utilize to speed up obtaining these products . . . accredited, we hope . . . both the portfolio and the products. Hille, perhaps you can help out here: is Thomas Edison accepting portfolios for these two products? And finally, where can I test-out for these two products? (Hey, I've learned something being on this site, okay!) Thanks!!! Starkman
Will you be offering other products, such as Peterson's Guide or Barron's? If so, will there be a discount. It would be nice to see a variety of products offered that are from different sources.
Absolutely. We are by no means tied to Ten Speed, Degree.net books, John Bear, or anyone else. BG14 is the first book offered simply because Ten Speed is really easy to work with in getting books and so forth. As soon as we establish a relationship with Ingram (largest trade book supplier), we'll be adding titles from a bunch of different authors and publishers. As for pricing, it's our hope to make our pricing reasonable and still make a little money. Amazon is actually selling some books at a loss, so we may not be able to match them all the time... but we'll still do our best to provide fair pricing and great service. Thanks!
I just checked, and PayPal is still offering a $5 credit the first time you use it, which is like getting a $5 discount on your first order. I've used it without problem on numerous eBay auction sales and purchases. www.paypal.com
Welllll..... Full disclosure (I think.) it is *possible* to get the $5 from PayPal, but no longer easy. Time was, somebody signed up and confirmed their email and got 5 bucks. Easy. Not any more. Last I looked, you had to confirm a bank account AND sign up for an interest-bearing savings account AND put money in the interest bearing account in order to get your five bucks which, unless you've got a bunch of extra time, isn't worth it, at least to me. But it's still a service that I use pretty regularly.
Good Morning, I imagine many of the forum members and guests may not need the new products. Here is what I plan to do. Why not purchase the products for your local library? Our library has a minimal distance learning book list that may be taken out. Most of the new releases are reference. Have a great day. Hille
capital idea Purchasing for your local library makes sense. Good idea! People who work in a large business might get the employer to add it to the human resources library. All the best!
Library Having been married to a librarian I can tell you that most Libraries respond to requests so if everyone would ask for a copy of BG they will purchase it for you
My local libraries seem to be well stocked on distance learning books. It seems that there's a large local interest in the subject. mayer
