Bear's Guide to Non-Traditional College Degrees by John Bear, Ph.D. This book was a lifesaver 35 years ago and I made a great career from his advise! Dr. John Bear........Thank You!
I second your praise of John, but you also owe yourself a pat on the back for using that information to the fullest, forging a career and sticking with it
My very first copy of "The Guide" was in 1992. Within a few months I saw advertised Steve Levicoff's book, "Name-It-Frame-It." These two volumes became my initiation into the world of distance education, and specifically into the world of Christian distance education. I am greatly indebted to both John and Steve.
This may no longer be so but "college" used to have an unwarranted mystique to it. Dr. Bear's books helped to give a nuts-and-bolts perspective to the thing. IMO, anyway.
Agreed. That's how I looked at when I was in high school, but some of the can be attributed to how teachers would present it to us and always holding over us that everything we did was going to dictate what type of college we went to if we could get into one at all.
You know, sometimes I do not be in such a hurry. I meant to say Dr. Bear has helped so many, but I am sure he is a dear man as well. Getting old.......

Congratulations. John! Kaye and I just had 43. My very best to Mrs. Bear, and here's to 53 more. Warren
