South African PhD- external examination

All:

I have a South African PhD thesis going out for external examination.

Anyone have any experience with this process? My supervisor seems fine with it but wondered if others had gone through this.

Yes, in 2012 I completed a SA PhD. My supervisor approved the final product and it was sent to two external examiners. Both had to approve it, which they did. It took one about one month, the other about three months to complete the examination.
