Sad to learn that West Virginia University's Associate of Applied Science degree now requires 15 credit hours for completion. Board of Governors Associate of Applied Science | WVU Parkersburg They previously only required 3 credit hours done with them to earn an Associates degree, but now they need 15 credit hours. I was conversing with their adviser today and received the email about it. I guess they will update it soon on their website.
Questionable call by West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Seems like a stumbling block that contradicts what the original intent was. In this new situation it's no different from most other schools having a 15-credit completion requirement for an Associate degree. This just appears to be about making more money than about helping students get ahead because this certainly won't help the student.
Right. It won't. I'm wondering - could this just possibly be a recently-imposed requirement from the accreditor - or 100% the decision of the school?  J.
