Good morning! I am looking into ph.d/ed.d degrees and I found an interesting program with Northwestern Nazarene University. Does anyone have any experience with this university? I'm especially interested in hearing from people that are in the doctorate program. They will accept my entire Ed.S from Liberty and I would only need to complete 30ish credits. They're RA and seem to be a solid, unremarkable school. I can't recall hearing anything really good or really bad about them, other than the usual warning that they're a Christian school, which sets some people off for whatever reason, but with Liberty under your belt, that's likely not a problem. Out of curiosity, why not press on with Liberty for the doctorate?
Liberty will not apply all of my Ed.S. Also, I'm not Christian, and while I'm very open to all walks of life, I simply can't bring myself to continue embedding scripture into all of my work. Northwestern Nazarene is a Christian school, but they do not require students to use scripture during coursework. I'm giving up my veterans benefits from Liberty but Northwestern Nazarene requires less credits due to my Ed.S, so... It'll work itself out.
Fair enough. Have you checked out the American College of Education? Also RA (just reaffirmed through 2025) and they have among the least expensive tuition rates around. Master & Doctoral Education Degrees Online | American College of Education
I've been looking into Northwest Nazarene a bit myself (can get admin license in both Idaho and Oregon through their eds program). Not convinced yet though, the conceptual framework of the school doesn't quite align with what I'm looking for. You may wanna also look into William Carey university, add they seem to suggest they'd also take all eds credits towards their edd. I think.
