Hello, I have 3 year bachelor degree from India, which is not equivalent to US bachelor degree. I am looking to get admission in MS online program (in Information Technology). I am looking for affordable option and explored few of areas. WGU - This college is affordable, but as per them I need to have one more year of study. I did 3 year bachelor in Biological Science. I don't want to study Biological science again, to get admission into MS in IT. Is there any option for me here ? Hodges - They can get me into MS program, but they need GPA 2.75, whereas I have 2.56. Per them, I should complete any 12 credits (three courses from anywhere) and pass them with A. That would make my GPA 2.75. Please advice me, if somebody have some suggestion on this. Apart from WGU and Hodges, do you know any other college, which can accept my 3 year bachelor degree ? Regards
This is the third time you've posted this question in the last month. I'm guessing that the answers haven't changed but if anyone has any additional info I'm sure they'll post it. If not . . .
I am not aware of any US schools that accepts a 3-year degree without any strings attached. Some of them may not accept on face, some will ask you to complete more credits and come back. I know people who joined some degree completion programs to complete missing credits and get a US bachelors degree. But his could be a bit longer, as you may have to take 30+ credits to do that. The Hodges option looks like the best one for me.
Kizmet, question for gaining increasing GPA is new one, so I included it in this post. What it would take to increase my GPA, if Hodges looks best as per msganti ?
Can I have option to take individual courses ? Checking on Universities websites and they all have either Bachelor degree or Master degree or some other. From where I can pick 3 or 4 courses and complete that ? I am new to US education system, so still learning and looking option to continue my study.
Are you in the US, or do you need to do the 12 credits by distance learning? If you're in the US, just go to your local community college for one semester. If you need distance learning, there's New Mexico Junior College for fairly low cost distance courses that should transfer anywhere. If all they want is for you to increase your GPA, then you can take almost anything.
As Davewill said, this is easy if you are already in the USA. Check with Hodges which courses they specifically want. There are so many ways you can earn those credits. Check this sticky article for various sources of credit.
