I did a search on it and didn't find much... any opinions on their program? Seems like they have pretty good curriculums but geez what an endless maze of links to plow thru on their site. They sure do have a lot of requirements, but good tuition rates and good name. http://online.fsu.edu
FSU Does the Job Hey BigBadBuf, I have a co-worker that just got an astronomical promotion when the finished at FSU. They started about 6 years ago in the B&M school and finished up over the net. I will contact her and have her email me everything that she knows about the programs....and then I will pass it on to you. Mike
that's very kind of you, thanks. I'd like to see what their overall opinion of it is, pros and cons, etc.
I would expect Florida State's program to be exceptional, since they have one of the top programs in instructional technology in the country and some of the most well-known faculty in this area. Tony
The only FSU online program that I've looked into extensively is the Criminology/Criminal Justice M.S. degree, and it's fantastic. Along with Michigan State, FSU is one of the best schools that offer online Criminal Justice degrees. I wish FSU offered this program when I was in the market for a CJ graduate degree. Bruce
Florida State U Distance Learning program I just finished my first course in FSU's all online M.S. program in instructional sytems with a major in open and distance learning. I made my single trip to the campus for an optional orientation and got to meet the president of the university, who is a big proponent of distance learning. He told me that when he first took office he received a letter from the president of Korea congratulating him and expressing gratitude to the FSU education faculty who had designed that nation's educational system.
Re: Florida State U Distance Learning program John, Who are the faculty involved in the program? If it is any of the instructional systems folks, I'll bet that the program is great. Florida State has always been one of the top programs in the country for instructional technology. Tony Pina, Faculty La Sierra University & California State University, San Bernardino
Yes, the Open and Distance Learning program does benefit from FSU's highly regarded instructional systems faculty and affiliates, including Marcy Driscoll, Robert Branson, Albert Osterhof, Bonnie Armstrong, and Allan Jeong.
Lucky guy! I had a nice visit with Marcy at the AECT conference in Dallas last month. She is a top-notch scholar and a nice person as well. Tony Tony Pina, Faculty La Sierra University & California State University, San Bernardino
