Doesn't even claim to be accredited by a recognized accreditor.

    No.

They claim accreditation on their website, but don't reveal who their accrediting agency is. Looks like a scam to me.

I LOVE this contradiction on their website. On the homepage it says:
And then this testimonial under their "Verification" page:

I've never heard of 'Vanridge University' until I saw this thread.

One thing that makes me concerned is that its 'contact' page is just an online form. There's no actual address. What if a prospective employer says, "Vanridge, I never heard of it. Where is it located?" and having to reply "I don't know".

WHOIS suggests that its website might be registered in Manchester UK. But it certainly doesn't appear to be a recognized British university.

Another thing that concerns me is that it purports to offer degrees in any subject imaginable. But that would require tremendous resources.

Most of the Google hits for it appear to be Arabic language. Is it trying to advertise itself where you live, Hussein?

I'd suggest that you stay away from it.

They award degrees for life experience. This is not done by real universities. Ever.

They offer "degree verification." All real universities do this; none advertise it. Ever.

Their website doesn't indicate where they located, or who gives them the authority to grant degrees. Real universities don't fail to do this. Ever.

Touts the quality of their diplomas. Real schools don't do this. Ever.

Degrees in more than 100 areas offered, but they do not offer instruction. No names of faculty or administrators. No phone number. No address, physical or mailing. Says they're accredited, but not by whom. Doesn describe curricula. Doesn't indicate levels of degrees offered. The disclaimer page is amazing. At one point it refers to "West Clayton Academy" instead of Vanridge. Whoops! Also refers to "ISR International University." And so on.

My favorite: "ISR International University is not officially registered in any formal educational governmental organization or entity and is not recognized by any governmental body as official university (sic)." So there.

There's also Carolina International University, Ohio International University and John Hever Academy.

If you're getting a completely unrecognized degree is it better to get one based upon "life experience" or actually work for it?

    Looks like a mill

Another red flag is their website url, it is http://www.vru-edu.com. As far as I know legit schools always have a url then ends in .edu.

Not to mention the stock photos all over the site, they are totally generic. Plus with everything else that all others have pointed out, my assessment is that it's a mill.

There are real, honest, accredited schools that offer courses and degree programs through distance learning. Most will accept credits in transfer from other legitimate schools. Some will recognize "prior learning" if you can adequately document that learning. So, yes there are such schools. This discussion board is all about such schools. You can begin your search by reading through some of the threads on this site.

They're also not very good at proofreading. On their "Verification" page, they state "The information that will be provided will be a fax reply stating the degree received from CIU and the date of the received degree".

    I assume the CIU refers to Carolina International University, another scam. They got this jamoke, though;
